It's funny. They quote 3400 for not even a full container. What is this crazy estimation price?

Hi there Thanks for your reply. I cannot understand it at all. Well so far I have had 3 removal companies in for quotes. Here goes if it helps anyone... No 1: White & Co: Came in, very polite, had a look around, no measuring just guesswork and not heaps of info given. They have quoted

they came last tuesday, packed everything. They were 5 of them, very efficient (maybe little too much), everything was packed and loaded from 8AM till 12PM. You need to gather your things for shipping seperates from those 'not going' though... otherwise they will pack 'everything' in the room. I guess I wasn't too clear about what's going what's not going but I barely caught one guy packing my purse containg ticket and wallet in the box! Then realised they don't like to ask questions, you see, they like to pack, load, and go. Shocked to find out after they had gone they had packed wicker basckets and left over detergent, shampoo etc...too! They even packed freshly washed clothes I folded in the laundry bascket for the next day, with basket! I worry if I am going to have problems at the customs.. So when the crews coming have plenty of helping eyes if you are not 100% sure what you're taking. oh, and plenty of tea bags and big jar of sugar and milk. They took oxygeon generator of my fish tank.. my poor fish are not very happy right now not to mention to move to another house... Good luck. Calyn

Hi - we are having Britannia Robins. I believe they must be the same 'master' company. The rep was very helpful , polite, informative etc etce etc. Well I say rep, he was Mr Robins - so I suppose he isn't just a rep!! Personal touch is the answer!!! Extremely pleased with the way he has been with us - can't do enough for us. Even provides ships, dates/times of departure of cargo and arrival info in Perth. They are coming on Tues and Wed to pack with my container coming on Thurs am. I also had a quote from PSS and Pickfords. Pss guy ok but no personal/intewraction skills to talk of and Pickfords were fine, nice bloke etc but not quite Britannia. I think I have made the right choice - watch this space. Their quote was v. competitive whereas Pickfords, well!! Until I got back to them that is and they dropped their quote within a few mins!! Anyway, Britannis it is. Good luck - go with your gut feeling I would advise, Regards, Rhian

Thank you Rhian Yes I had a good initial feel for them too. The rep did explain Britannia are a 'master company' and then lots of family franchises under them. Good luck with your move and please do let us know how it went. Lisa x
