In peoples' experiences how far in advance is it wise to book flights. We are travelling to Melbourne in May for a rekkie. Do we need to be booking our flights yet?? Andrea

Best to be keeping an eye out for seat sales. We are coming back to the UK for a holiday in June and we booked our flights in early December because Singapore had a sale. Booking the same flight now would have cost us an extra $2500 for our family. Leave it too late and you may not get on your choice of flight at all.

Agree with Marshy on this one. We are coming out in April for our rekkie and booked our flights way back in October when the seat sales first came out. Luckily we have a friend who is a travel agent and she was able to know in advance when the seat sales were coming out. We are flying from Glasgow so really Emirates was the best option for us. Where are you flying from? Kendal
