We've lived here for going on 8 years and find it very comfortable. It isn't one of the affluet areas and is on the 'wrong' side of the Marmion (main road travelling north of Perth along the coast) but the area has a comfortable feel and very middle class. The state schools are recommended and the local low fee paying private schools are all within 15min drive with 2 running a bus route in the area: Peter Moyes Anglican Community School and St Stephen's Uniting school - both being Christian church schools upholding good values. The freeway now ends at Kinross and although the roads are quite a bit busier it makes it easy to get anywhere. We also have a train station in walking distance. All up a great suburb for the average joe!
