Hi all, could do with a bit of advice! We are looking at booking somewhere for when we first arrive but have no idea how long to book for! Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks, Clare

Hi, we booked a holiday let for a month. This gave us time to find a rental, buy car and other items needed when setting up home again. It can take a while to find a rental sometimes due to demand. If you can pay some months in advance aswell, it can help in securing a rental without any references. Dawn

Hi, thanks for that. Can I ask who you booked it through? There was a property on here that would have been perfect but it's already booked! Will look for your reply. Thanks Clare x

Hi we moved to Melbourne, but found the holiday let on one of the realestate sites. Can't remember which one, sorry!! Prices for holiday lets can be quite high now matter where you move to and some aren't all what they seem. Try to see as many photo's as possible of the place your renting. Dawn

Hi, We stayed in a holiday home in Clarkson (Northern Suburbs) we were able to rent for 2 weeks at a time and we were lucky enough to find a rental within the two weeks and buy a car. This however was 2 and half years ago so not sure what the rental market is like now though? My advice would be if you find a place just ask if you can rent it fortnightly (ask also that if you do rent it fortnightly that your stay is still securer in case it does take 3 to 4 weeks to find a rental).I think this is the best way so that if a rental does come up you can apply and only have to wait 2 weeks till you can move in). Hope this helps. It is hard when relocating and having to figure out dates etc..if only we had a crystal ball lol,it's all guess work really isn't it however once a plan is in place it normally works out. Good luck! Pebbles

Hi yes of course,I'll have to have a search for the info..I think I should still have it.I found it on a website if I recall. The lady was great and so helpful even offered to pick us up from the airport however cause we were relocating we could not fit in her car with all our stuff LOL. I'll have a search tonight and see if I still have all the info. Pebbles

That's great - thanks ever so much. We've been quite surprised at how many places are already fully booked for that time of year! So decided we really need to get sorted so we have peace of mind that we'll have somewhere to live! Look forward to your reply. Clare :)
