|It is a bit confusing, but Jon has been offered a position in QLD, but also in another state. So this week we are off to see two states to check them out. Never go anywhere then suddenly I am off to two places. Do you live near Ipswich at all? How do you find the Queensland heat and spiders, and the cost of living, I am assuming anywhere as to be cheaper than Melbourne.|

|Wow you are going to do well in a short period of time. We are on the Gold Coast. We have actually seen less spiders than we did in Melbourne. Also less house flys. They used to drive me mad in Victoria.
The heat has been OK. It's nice most of the time. When it rains boy does it rain. The humidity can be uncomfortable. But manage mainly just with the fans. It doesn't last too long.
I don't know anything about Ipswich. I think there is a new area that is close by called Forest Lakes. It's advertised on the TV all the time. Looks nice.
Which other State are you going to see?

|I'm sure my brother in law used to live in Ipswich.
Hubbie is in bed though so will have to wait until the morn to ask him and will try to get back to you if no one else does.|

|Have asked hubbie and he says that in the way of houses, it's mainly Queenslanders.
I remember passing through and stopping in Ipswich to pick up a kilt outfit for a wedding and it was bloody hot and that was in September and hubbie says it does get pretty hot in Summer.
Ipswich itself is not rural not too sure how far out you'd have to go to find rural areas. But it's only about a 30 minute drive to Brisbane.
Bugs are pretty much the same as anywhere else in Qld.
As for people, my husband says that when my brother in law lived there there were a lot of aboriginals and, if he's honest, it's not somewhere he would really have chosen to live.
This was a few years back though so it could have changed some now.
Please don't anyone shoot me down for just typing what I was told lol!

We fall under the Ipswich council, we are aprox 10 mins from the centre of Ipswhich, we stay in Springfield Lakes which is a very awesome suburb, new houses very similar to forest lake. We are approx 25km from the centre of Brisbane. Just outside springfield lakes is a suburb called Brookwater an golf estate with lovely houses as well. the weather is good, its hot when its hot and cold in winter. SPiders and snakes not seen any snakes but we have the usual spiders.
The schools are great with some good private ones and some good state schools. Qld is much cheaper than melbourne and Sydney. Food in my house for a fam of four averages aprox $200 with meat. Then it all depends on what ur use to. House rental prices you can get ur standard small home for $350 a week to beautiful mansions on golf course for Aprox $550 a week.
If u need anymore advise do not hesitate to PM me. There are lovely shopping centres as well as well as the brisbane river in Mnt Ommaney for skiing if own boats.
