We are travelling out to Melbourne in a few weeks to validate the visa. In order to validate it what actually needs to happen. Do you just literally get the visa in each passport stamped? Do you have to ask immigration to do this or will it be done automatically and do you require any other additional paperwork as evidence. Thanks Andrea

It's just a case of going through immigration at the airport. No other paperwork needed as you have your visas in your passports already.

When we went last year to validate ours they did just stamp our passports! We asked just in case we should have done anything! It's such a big thing for the people doing it but nothing actually happens! Not sure what we were expecting - balloons, champagne (ha, ha)!!!!! Good job we asked the people as we went through though as that's when we found out they'd spelt Laurens name wrong on her visa so they changed something on hers whilst we were going through security! Enjoy your trip x
