Hi. has anyone imported garage/industrial equipment or tools. I have an industrial air compressor and heavy sewing machine ( not the domestic type in any way ), also air staple guns and sundries for furniture making. All are relatively new and very clean. I am planning on bringing these in the container with house things. Has anyone had any problems in customs or duty ? Should the sundries be left here or sold so it doesnt look as if im supplying a business? hope someone can help. thanks craig

Check on the customs website as to what you can and cant bring. If unsure give them a ring but I cant see why you cant bring those things. You only have to pay duty if it is new ... so if it is, take it out the box and get your shipper to repack!

I have most of our items in 50 litre plastic storage boxes with lids. will all these have to be repacked by the shipping company ? or can everything just go in a container by me. does the shipping company have to check EVEYTHING i have ? thanks again.

they are supposed to for your insurance purposes but what tends to happen is they stick some brown stuff around the plastic containers. Dont fret about it, it iwll get here! I bought all manner of t hings and wish I had bought more!!!!!
