My son is in Year 11 at school and also attending The Shed (college) in Butler. He does 2 days at school, 2 days at The Shed and 1 day work experience. At the moment he is on work experience with (Dale Allcock builders) and the guy lives in Mindarie, althou the guy is very impressed with my son and has said he would offer him an apprenticeship in August unfortunately he is moving to Bulls Brook which i believe is too far for my son to get to that early in the mornings as he is too young to drive. We live in Butler and was hoping to find someone that lives local who is looking for an apprenticeship. We have looked on the internet and have registered on the agencys websites. There is a guy that comes in regular to The Shed and gives them info on guys wanting apprenticeships but when he has rang them they too live too far away, the last one being in Mandurah (not sure where the logic is in that!!). Anyway thought it mite be worth posting on here as alot of these things are done word of mouth. Thanks in advance for any help or advise, cheers - Sharron

Hi, the best training your son could get is on site, my husband has employed lads from college but has always found the best ones are the ones who just go onsite and learn. The guy he is training at the moment started with him as a labourer and is now learning to lay, he is doing great. Hope he mamages to get something as its hard when they are keen but cant find anything.
