Have recently relocated to Perth. Can anyone recommend a lawnmower repair/service place. I have a big old heavy petrol mower with issues?

Does it actually start. If it does, but runs badly, or is difficult to start, then there are a few things you can do yourself to rectify this.

Such as?. My petrol mower also has issues. Mine runs fine until the grass gets in the way then it splutters coughs and usually gives up.

Such as the cord that I pull to start it has snapped off. Its not been right for some time, sometimes I have to push it because it doesn't drive itself, its a big old mower so that's no easy task. Someone said it looks like the clutch is slipping and the roller doesn't roll on its own.

Check your oil and petrol mix. Two stroke oil helps form the seal that forces the ignition stroke to drive the crankshaft. You can lose power if your mix is wrong. Also check that the choke is working properly and that the blades are sharp (blunt blades tear at the grass and make the engine work too hard).
