|Hiya All Aussiemovers,
It has been a while since I posted on here, but still have a nosey now and then lol.
Everyone has settled in nicely after some ups and downs, but the ups far outweigh the downs now lol. My boys are doing really well at school and met some brilliant friends, who are here constantly, so no change from England!! Eldest is busy with Footy and girls and the youngest is always out and about at the skate park, I really do feel they have far more freedom here than what they ever had back home. Hubby is now self-employed and doing really well as a Carpenter/Builder, but has had to learn the Ozzy way lol....and we finally have 2 years accounts, so we can now look at buying our own home at last, this will be the icing on the cake for all of us.
Cost of living I think is quite expensive, but if you shop around you can do it quite cheaply, it took us a while to find the right places, but spend around $160 at the butchers (which lasts around 2 months), then just do general shopping weekly at around $150.
We have had some visitors which is great and getting plenty more this year, although we still miss family and friends like mad, it does get easier and at the moment no-one wants to go back for a visit, Hubby never wants to go back lol, but whilst we are getting the visitors here, I can hold back for a while longer too. I think once we have bought our own place I will go back for a visit, then I know I am coming home........to my own home!!!
To all old and new Aussiemovers, just want to say this site is so valuable whether you have made the move or in the process, I am still in touch with a lot of people from this site and I have made some very good friends along the way. I am sure this site will continue to help lots more people too.
All in all, we would not change a thing, everything is going really well we love it here....and here's to the next two years, good luck everyone.

|We just broke the three year barrier. On my way home from work today, it was 18c (middle of winter) cloudless and the sea was calm. I saw two Dolphin from my car as I turned towards my street.
Not bad really.|

I've just seen your post and cant believe you've been in Oz 2 years already. As you know, we're still in the UK but have decided that we're gonna give the East coast a go rather than Perth as I thought it might suit us more (kids are now 20, 17, 15 and 9). They're not too happy about moving but we've said we need to give it a go before the visa runs out cos we'll kick ourselves after if we dont. I know you once said if we do come over you'd show us round a bit of your area, so I may still hold you to that - if thats ok. Well done on adapting to your new life down under and hopefully we'll see you soon.
Lots of love

I remember the countdown in the chat room! and me saying its 10hrs till we FLY....fly it has..........it was a proud moment to reach the Citizenship.
You never know we may drop by the East coast for a little jolly holiday in summer school holidays, so I'll keep ya posted, will be good to meet you properly!!
You take care and keep having fun

|Just wondered if you're starting to feel the cold yet?
We've been here nearly 4 years and I'm now rugged up like an Aussie because it's 'bl...y freezing' especially at 4.30am. Didn't really notice it that much in our first year.
For all those in the UK - it's pissing down with rain now and has been all night.
Just hope it clears out for our 4 hour drive to Albany because I don't trust the road trains in good weather..|
