I'm sorry, I know this question has possibly been asked already so please don't shoot me for asking again! I'm eligible to apply for citizenship in a few weeks time. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea how long it may be between applying for citizenship and actually sitting the test. Thank in advance! Paula

It took us 4 months to get a date for the test (which is really easy so long as you can speak English and study their little book) - then another 6 months to get a ceremony and certificate.

I would say it would vary from state to state. and actually getting a date for the citizenship ceremony would also vary from council to council.

I seem to be having a few issues with the little book....I can't seem to take any of it in haha! It's a bit like being in a history class, never was my strong point! Thanks for your reply. Paula

I'm down in Tasmania so not very sure if that make it sooner or later? Suppose I'll find out soon enough.....just as long as I pass the test lol! Thanks Paula

Just keep reading. It's funny because my husband told me you won't need to study the book. The night before the exam I got some test questions up on line and freaked as I didn't know the answers. I sat up until about 1am studying so only a few hours really. But I passed thank goodness. I got one wrong, considering I hadn't studied much I was pleased. As for my husband well he got 100%. But he did study all the following weekuntil it was his date. Good luck.

I've done the online test questions and got all but one correct so hopefully it won't be too painful lol! I'll keep persevering with my wee book though!
