I found SGIO very competitive, especially for 4x4's. Both our cars (Daewoo station wagon, and LandRover Discovery) are insured with them, together with house and contents insurance. By having them all with SGIO we also get a great discount on premiums. Also, being a local WA company, you don't have to worry about the time differences with companies over east for any claims or queries. http://www.sgio.com.au/ tel: 133 233 Cheers, KIEREN

AAMI have been the cheapest and best for us so far. Also, whoever you use in the first year, compare their renewal price with others on the web. Same as you would in the UK. My first AAMI renewal was quoted at $459 so I searched the web and got a quote for $330 (as a new customer) from (would you beleive it) AAMI. I cancelled my old policy and took out a new one with the same company and saved $129. Same goes for house insurance. What I would say about AAMI is that we have made three claims. Two for the 4WD and one for a lightning strike on the house. No hassle with any of the claims and we were not penalised for making the claims as they were not our fault. We kept our no claims bonus and 'good driver' status. (we got hit twice by other cars when parked, in case you were wondering)
