Hi all, we have been here for 4 months now on a state sponsored visa. Was reading through the visa grant letter the other day and it states that we should inform the government of our address and complete a questionnaire every 6 months to fulfil our visa requirements. Anyone got any similar experience of this, not sure exactly who we need to contact!

Hi, We have a state sponsored visa and my understanding is that you have to inform the sponsoring state govt on arrival. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I am aware you complete the first questionnaire on arrival, then another at 6 months, one at 12 and then the last after 24 mths.

Hi There, We recieved a state sponser, after arrival we tried to find out where we had to activate it, we were told it was activated the moment we entered australia (this was 18 months ago). DIAC keeps track of your whereabouts so they will know immediatly if you leave state to enter another state and make house. We have 6 months to go and our two year state sponsership is finished which will allow us to relocate to any other state. Hope this helps.

Are you saying you don't need to complete the questionnaire as our visa grant letter states we must inform the sponsoring state govt in order to complete the settlement surveys

Rang the western Australian government today to enquire and they said they have suspended the questionnaire thing so we dont have to do it. She said I could e-mail them with our contact details if I wanted but to be honest didn't really seem as though it mattered. I sent the e-mail but am guessing it will end up in the trash bin!
