Hi We too are looking for friends we arrive on 28th August. We will be initially staying in Currambine. Perhaps we could set up an Aussie Move meet up I have done a couple of those here in the UK and still keep in touch with a few families that I met at them. Please keep in touch I am sure the first few weeks are the hardest getting to know your way around etc. Debs

Hi, we have been here 8 months now and we live in Ocean Reef. Our boys are 13, 18 in September and 21. How old are your kids? How are you settling in in Perth? Lynn

Hi Lynn, We have a son 16, a daughter 19 and her b/friend who is 18. The youngest has settled no problems but our daughter and her b/friend haven't found it so easy as they are not meeting many people their own age, how about yours, have they settled ok?

Yeah my 17 year old absolutely loves it goes out all the time dont see him. My 13 year old has struggled to get some good mates as the ones that go to his school dont live near us so he spends all his time on his PS3. My eldest he went back to the UK a year ago but has said that he will come back hopefully next year. It is a really hard age for the older ones, although saying that, I really found it hard. Feel more settled now that I have a job? Have u settled OK? X

Hi Lynn, I do feel better now I have a job as I too was struggling with the move, having said that I do think alot of my problems were due to me worrying about the kids. I am still not sure whether the eldest will decide to stay in the UK when they go back at xmas, time will tell that's just something I will have to deal with if and when it happens. I do miss socialising etc., I do hope as the weather picks up things will improve. Andrea

Hi, My son is at Ocean Reef High School. When we first arrived we enrolled him in a private school only due to the area we were in at the time. Following our move to our permanant rental we found the distance to travel to and from school was just too far so we enrolled him in Ocean Reef. Our son didn't particulary dislike school in the UK but went along just because he knew he had to. Since he started at Ocean Reef he has changed completely and actually likes being at school and is thoroughly enjoying his time in school which is something I never thought I would hear myself saying. I have to say that whatever they have done with him they get a big thumbs up from me.

My boys go to Ocean Reef to and seem to like going to school too which is one less thing that I have to worry about. I'm hoping that my 20 year old comes back to Australia from the UK next year, after 7 months here it has been easier to settle than when we moved from the UK to Adelaide.
