All charge a fortune over the Xmas period, cause they can, people pay it.

Air Asia are pretty good. I suggest you subscribe to all newsletters and deals and see what drops into your inbox. Try Singapore, Air New Zealand, Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia and KLM. It may be worth her changing flights and airlines on the way to keep the cost down. Bit of a pain but going via or changing flights at Hensiki or Oslo seem cheaper.

We are flying the reverse over Christmas with Thai to Bangkok and then Swiss to Manchester. Turned out a lot cheaper than any of the other airlines.

Did you figure this route yourself or use an agent? Cheers Simon

We booked it online through Harvey World Travel. Also found the same combination through Best Flights and a few other online distributors. We are flying from Melbourne, but I'd assume there'd be other mix and match options from Perth. We also looked at Air Asia for the first part of the journey and then a more comfortable airline for the remainder of the journey. The Thai/Swiss combination worked out better in terms of time and cost. Barb
