Hi, please can anyone recommend a good company for shipping insurance. Do we do it through the removers or find another company. We have been told by the removers that if we go with them then it will be a figure of 2.8%. Many thanks

It is best to use your shipping companies as they pack your stuff and take care. We shipped and insurance with Britannia and they were brilliant.

Sorry Kathryn but the quality of your shipping company's packing is not dependent upon your using their insurer. We used PSS and they were brilliant, I couldn't fault them. We had some exceedingly fragile stuff which travelled perfectly. But we needed to save money where we could and there are better insurance deals to be found than that quoted by your shipping company. I guess it depends on the company. Britannia did us a good deal and paid out on a couple of items that were damaged without hassle. My wedgewood and grans old dinner service arrived intacted. We had a motorbike and lots of valuable and fragile things that arrived ok. I guess it is down to the shipping company and how they pack at the end of day.
