After many years of mulling over the idea of starting a new life in australia were finally going to start the process the trouble is i just dont know where to start, can anybody give us some tips? We have looked on the website which is very helpful but its all very confusing. Also are there any costs involved?

Before you do anything else, you should contact a couple of Registered Migration Agents and determine that you are eligible for a visa. The rules are changing dramatically on July 1st so do not waste any time in doing this. Get a couple of written quotes (check the small print for any extra charges!) and then you will know what your likely costs will be. Whether you use an agent or do it yourself, expect to pay for the following: Skills Assessment Fee Visa Lodgement Fee Medicals Police Clearances IELTS (English Test)
