Hi, We are moving to Perth from the UK at the end of July and wondering if anyone had any advice on how to get childcare or any recommendations? We have a 4 and a 1 year old who will need daycare when I am working. Also can anyone advise me whether my 4 year old can continie pre-school in Australia like he does here or do they just begin primary school at 5? Any help appreciated!

Hey Rhona The children start school here at age 4. Kindy is about 5 days per fortnight. If you are working full time, you can send you child to day care for the remainder of the fortnight. Currently, that is what I am doing with my boy and so far it is working out ok. Day care is expensive in Australia. Kindy is about a $40 voluntary contribution per annum plus stationery and uniforms. Hope this helps a bit. Nerissa

Thanks Nerissa, I have no idea where we will be based exactly so probably best to wait until we arrive to make arrangements. Thanks for your help!
