I'd like to bring the childrens bicycles. None are muddy but the removals company indicated that customs may not like bicycles. Has anyone taken any with them? If so did you steam clean them?

Hi We took our bikes with us and had no problem. You just need to make sure ALL mud, earth, sand etc is off them. We hosed them down and did not put them on the ground till the packers dismantled them and put them in the cycle boxes they use. It's great for cycling here, we go along the West Coast highway path which is nearly flat and easy for the kids. There are cycle paths everywhere. Gael

Gael, Thanks for the answer. We'll definately bring the kids bikes then. Do you know whether cycle stuff is more/ less / same price as in UK. Just wondering whether we should delay the purchase of a tag along to fit on the back of an adult bike until we arrive in Australia. Mark.

Hi Mark, Sorry I don't know how much a tag along is, but there are lots of people using them here. I'm sure there'll be someone in Aussiemove land who knows though. OR try a glance through the web, ebay is here too! Gael
