We are thinking of emigrating to Australia later this year but my only reservation is how my dog will cope with it. There is no way I will leave him behind - what sort of costs are we looking at? How long does the whole process take? We are taking him to France for a week in May - will this impact on it?
Also, he is only young (18 months) and I'm worried about how he will cope with the flight.
Thanks for any tips!

I think you're mad bringing a dog over to oz with you. You must love him very much.
In answer to your question if your dog is any thing like mine (See attached) he'll be fine, my dog has two owners who love him alot and will not let any harm get to him, he is a hardy little bugger and wouldn't be phased by the situation at all.
Good luck with the move, I'm sure you'll have the time of your life and you won't encounter any problems along the way as I'm sure you've got someone you can rely on and loves you more than you could ever imagine (even if you don't think it.)|

We are now in Perth (arrived end of October) and the dog arrived week after. We used Par Air in the end and were really impressed - the only thing we weren't happy with is that they never told us that if he arrived in Perth after midnight, he would not be collected until the morning. Other than that I found them to be really helpful and reassuring. The dog coped really well with the flight and quarantine and is great to have him back in one piece. He lost a bit of weight but that was all. The staff at Byford are great.
Good luck with it all!|
