|So then, after nearly 2 years in Perth, we felt it was time to take a look at all that Sydney has to offer.
We were there for a week at the end of March, and although the days were quite often cloudy, the daytime temps were around the mid 20|

|Brilliant rekkie report guys - am completely petrified of any of the arachnid variety so thankfully couldn't spot the one you encountered!

|eewwwwwww gross! i've been led to believe that they're worse on the east coast, please say that's true! also, on the two trips that i visited perth - one for 6 weeks, the other for 3 months - i only saw one red back which was a huge relief!
can i ask why you want to leave perth, also which area are you currently living in there?

Leaving Perth as just not happening enough for us and is v. expensive considering how remote it is, and IT job prospects much better in the East. Currently live in a new suburb (yup lots of Colour steel here too) called Ascot Waters which is a riverside suburb - SOR. This suburb is pricy - not that much left for much under a $1m here now - it has seen 40% increases in the last 12 months alone!! The two properties either side of us have just been sold for about $1.6m and they are on 300 sq blocks!!!
Have you looked at the pics again - i was uploading the spider one while you were reading - its on there now.

|Fantastic Rekkie report!
We're in the process of heading to Sydney from the UK. I worked in Sydney a couple of years back and fell in love with the place. From the vibrant city to the quieter suburbs and the parks.
We're looking around the Kirribilli area for now as it has all the transport links at hand. One thing I found before was Sydney traffic during the week! Not as bad as London but not far off! A ferry/train/bus and a walk will do to get to work!
Did you go to Taronga Zoo, at certain times of day they get some of the spiders out! Not one for those of a disposition about spiders! Came across a dunny (sp?) spider in the hotel I stayed in. Thankfully I had been warned to flush not touch! After the UK, getting used to some of the more dangerous of Australia's wildlife will take some getting used to!|

|Thank you, didn't realise people still read these, as i posted this report more than 4 years ago. We ended up staying in Perth, after taking a really long look at both Sydney and Melbourne. One of our push factors was the IT job market, but in the past few months - there has been an explosion in the number of .NET jobs here in Perth so now things are going well, we intend staying put for a while, but of course this may not last forever!
Hope you enjoy Sydney - Kirribilli is lovely.
