Attempted Hijacking
31 Mar 2009
On our way home from my mums house at 7:45pm last night we were almost hijacked.yes you read right. My 3 year old son was asleep in his car seat and my 10 year old was also in the back, but not asleep. We were taking the on-ramp when we noticed 2 men exiting a Toyota Tazz. The 1 guy asumed that we would stop behind them seeing as the robot was red,but we were taking the on-ramp.He actually made a point of looking into our car.Mervin and i are very alert where ever we are. That is the most stressful thing when you live in a beautiful city like Durban cos you dont enjoy the true beauty of the place, well whats the use if you have to look over your shoulder every few seconds.
Well anyway getting back to the topic the piece of rubbish that he is pulled out a gun and started firing at us.The first shot sounded like the car Tyre had gone over a bottle and burst,we looked in the mirror and could not believe our eyes.
The son of a B@#$% was running behind the car and firing, thank GOD for Mervin's quick reaction,he dropped gear to 2 and was out of there.Everything happened in seconds but it was the longest few seconds of my life and i just froze when Mervin looked in the mirror and said he has a gun.In all he shot 4 times at us and by Gods GRACE we were not hurt.
Nico my eldest son was so shaken that he cried and even asked me if we could leave as soon as the visa comes. Some of you may know that we are planning to leave in January 2010.
After what happened I would pack my bags and leave right now if there was no such thing as a visa.
