Wow! Hubby is impressed with the outback! Hot but bearable (only 37 degrees there today). Pretty and green, no water restrictions, aircons run 24/7 in summer, shops and services look good, houses look nice. Says he can see us living there! Thanks for the well wishes Barb!
What a week! We only heard on Tuesday morning that the company wanted hubby to fly this weekend to Australia. On Thursday we received the proposed itinerary and quickly confirmed that it was in order. Now, as I type, hubby is winging his way to Oz for his look-see-decide trip. He has an action packed week ahead of him filled with a site visits, meetings, etc. Baby and I are going to take this opportunity to visit family in other parts of South Africa. This includes a plane trip to Cape Town - baby's first flight and I'm doing it alone???
Good news! The look/see/decide trip seems more real as we now have our passports back from VFS with the 456 visas in them. It took two weeks to get them. This is just a short-term business trip visa. Although we got the visas for the whole family, I don't think baby and I will be going too. It is one heck of a trip to make with a baby for only a week. I feel exhausted just thinking about it. In any event, I'm happy with Australia as a proposed migration destination and it would be best if hubby can be left to focus on what needs to be done instead of also having to worry about wife and baby tagging along. Now all we can do is sit tight and wait for news about when the trip will take place.
