Yesterday the heat peaked at 43.3 degrees. It has been remarked how well we seem to be coping with the heat. To be honest, I couldn't do it without the aircon so it isn't true coping with the heat. I manage fine walking about outside for a short bit (like to the shops and back) but wouldn't push it much further than that. I've heard of guys on the mine who work on machines in big sheds with no aircon - now that is real coping with the heat. The mine recommends that their workers drink 5 litres of water a day! I stepped outside after 8pm last night and it still felt like someone had left a great big oven door open as it made my cheeks tingle with the heat. So, if you are a softie like me, have excellent aircon and don't mind staying in doors most of the time, you can cope living in such a hot place. Let's hope the infrastructure never fails!
