Well our container is packed and should be on a ship by now. The packers were expecting our container to leave the country either last night or this morning.
The removal guys were really good yesterday. The packing was completed in a few hours and it took just under an hour for them to pack, secure and seal our container. I think if we had ventured to do the whole thing ourselves it would probably have taken a week to pack the boxes and two days to work out the jigsaw to pack everything in the container so it was definitely worth every penny.
Our house is completely empty and we are staying at my mum's for the next 5 days.
I feel really excited now and just want to be there now to get our new life underway.
I am sure these last few days are going to be very emotional. We are meeting up with loads of friends tonight for a few leaving drinks and it is going to seem really strange saying goodbye to people.
It's 6.30 on day 2 of the packing I am sitting on the lounge floor with the laptop surrounded by boxes and 2 packaged sofas!
The house looks really strange, full of boxes and all our stuff wrapped up. Staying here last night was ok we were left our bed, tv and a few essential items.
Yesterday went really well, the guys worked really hard and were so quick. I am glad that we had organised most things and had a clear idea of what was going and what was staying it really helped it go smoothly.
There is still stuff to pack this morning but it should only take a few hours and the container should arrive around 12, with a 3 hour slot for packing it.
Andrea - We are using Anglo Pacific.
Firstly I am writing this at 6am, I have been awake for over an hour! Sometimes I just wish my brain could be switched off.
Our packers arrive this morning to start boxing up all our possessions. I don't really feel ready for them but I am sure this happens all the time. Nothing has been dismantled or disconnected yet and some things still need to be cleaned! I have a DNP Room (Do not pack) that has loads of stuff just dumped in it and I am sure this will get worse as the hours go by.
Our house sale still has not exchanged and my car has not sold!
I am trying not to think about these too much but not really sure how things are going to work out if we are not in the country. My parents are more than happy to help to sort of stuff we were just hoping that it would all be done before we went.
