Now, I have been through up and down days, I underestimated how much I would miss my family and its been very hard at times and sure these rollercoaster days will continue but right now I feel very content and feeling more settled by the day. It feels like home to us now, we want to make it our home and so putting our hearts and souls into giving it the best shot. It feels normal seeing the beautiful indian ocean everyday! I love seeing our children enjoying the outdoor lifestyle. They seem so happy and content here.
Its Winter and gets pretty chilly overnight, the houses are not equipped for the cooler weather, no heating, single glazing. We recently invested in a gas heater and although expensive has been worth every penny. I would strongly recommend any new migrant to ship out heaters, electric blankets...you WILL need them over the winter months but it'll soon be Perth's shortest day and we are half way through winter and todays outside temp was 19! i have heard July is the worse winter month. I am very much looking forward to the awesome aussie summer.
I will write again soon but in the meantime, congrats to all those who have just received their visas and best of luck to all those still waiting.
