Alison i am terrified of them lol - when Mick got the Huntsman in a glass i screamed so loud, you could have heard me by the lakes haha
Dont see that many spiders, apart from normal house spiders which are not nice but i keep well away from them. I dont have any as my house and garden is sprayed! Seen a few big spiders out and about but not that many, not sure if i have seen a snake, i did see this tiny, tiny little worm like creature which had red/black/orange rings on it but did not look like a snake, people have told me that it was a leg less lizard but i beg to differ. We do go into the dunes alot as Blue loves chasing the Kangaroos and not seen any snakes in there, not yet anyway hehe
Dont let the wildlife put you off coming here as it is not half as bad as you think its going to be!!! trust me lol x |

Moved into our new house not so long ago and have been waiting for our garden shed, furniture etc before we get the spiderman out. We have seen some small spiders in the house but nothing too scarey. This morning i went to get the inflatables out of our shed and i saw my first HUNTSMAN SPIDER - OMG!!!! Well actually i saw its legs sticking our from under the shed roof, it has to be a Huntsman as its legs are nearly as big as mine lol - Spiderman now coming Tuesday!!! Hurry up!!! |

Our friends who had been in oz for a year or so told us about a guy that came round to their house every year to spray for insects and spiders. When we moved into our long term rental in Oct 07 I rang him and he came round. He was a very nice bloke and he charged $150 to spray inside the house including the aircon vents and the loft, he then sprayed all the outside wall of the house, all the fencing, patio areas, garage, shed, garden furniture etc. The spray last up to 12 months but if you see any signs of spiders after he has gone then he will return and re spray free of charge. He says he will keep doing this until there are no sign of them. I would defo recommend him and if anyone wants his details then please get in touch. |
