Thankyou and lovely to hear from you Bev. Yep we so know we have done the right thing. I obviously keep in touch back in the UK and they carnt believe my son has left school and working full time. They say that there boys are still at school even thou they are older than mine and only because they carnt find a job whats worth leaving for. Your right thou you do have to work hard to make it work and there are lots of ups and downs. To be honest I think we have been quite lucky that we have now all settled and loving the Ozzie life - Would I change anything, mmmmmm in short NO but a lotto win would be nice lol - good luck to all xxx
Well I carnt believe its been so long since I was on here so I thought I would update you all with all thats happened.
We are still in Butler, Perth and still in our fabulous home that we built with Homebuyers. We have lived in it for almost 2 years now, how time flies. Done a few changes inside but nothing drastic as there no need when you build as you can do everything you want to it. Been spending abit of time in the garden this year and its looking fab. Put Patio in with blinds, lights etc. Paved all the back due to grass going in the pool all the time, so much easier and we probably should have paved in the first place but when you first move in you just want to get something down to stop the sand been brought in.
My eldest son now 16 has left high school and has gained himself a full time 3 year apprenticeship in Bricklaying. He has been doing it since July and is loving it, his boss said he is doing fantastic and will defo be above award rates for the whole 3 years. He is working for a local Bricklayer who is picking him up and dropping him off which is a bonus as he is not old enough as yet to drive. Best thing we could have done letting him leave school and get out into the big world, Tradies are still very very much in demand and the Government is giving the young apprentices so much to encourage they follow it through to the end.
He is also having Moped lessons too and has his driving test v v soon, fingers crossed for him. I will then be able to relax more instead of been a taxi for him and his pals lol. All in all he is doing fantastically well and he was the one that did not want to come in the first place lol. He is dating a local girl who is really nice and spends all his spare time with his pals down the beach etc. What more could a 16 young man want???? 3 years ago I felt sick when he kept saying he wanted to go back to UK and he didnt like it here. All i can say to anyone in the same situation is be strong and stick at it, it will sort itself out for the best in the long run.
Youngest son is still enjoying life here and spends most of his time with his pals, nothing changes lol.
