Have no idea about the tents. One thing we thought was that being a long weekend they could be people who've gone back up to Marysville to supervise cleanup/rebuilding or to visit. There were a few around on the cleared blocks. Didn't envy them though as it was very cold up there.

I hate snow. Loathe living with the stuff. I don't understand how people can opt to holiday up in the ski fields for a week. I am glad though that it is my choice if I want to travel to see it or not.

Went up to Lake Mountain today about 2 hours from Melbourne. Our girls have never seen snow so thought we'd go for a play. SOOO glad I don't live with the stuff any more. Freezing cold, need far too many clothes and did I say cold? They enjoyed playing in it but were also happy to get back into the heated car.

Was a pretty devastating drive up there with having to pass through Marysville, one of the towns worst hit by the bushfires. It gets very cold up there and most of the population is living in caravans, shipping containers and even tents. I don't envy them.

Anyone who is in Melbourne, I recommend that you get up to Lake Mountain for the day and support the Marysville community. The bakery is still standing and open for business.
