Everyones experience is different but coming here at 16 has been really difficult. Our daughter finished school in the Uk and decided to go to yr 12 here at the same school that her sister is in yr 9. She should have gone to tafe and it hasnt worked out for her. She is perhaps too mature to go back into the school system and has been very upset and has now quit.
At one point was going home and this has been a very stressful time. At the moment she is looking for a fulltime job or a suitable tafe course if the education officer can come up with something.

Obviously everyone is different but if you are just heading out here i would look carefully at all options - i think tafe or school better than working for this age group as a better way to make friends than at work.

This is just our experience and if its worked out for others - great.
