getting ready for school
30 Jan 2009
We have managed to book the kids into Tapping Primary School and they will start the new term on Monday with everyone else.
The whole school system came as a bit of a shock to us as when we went to register the children we were given a book list. I don't think anyone told me about this and so off we headed to Wooldridges (with just about every other parent in Joondalup!!) and spent $400 on stationery etc etc. It was a bit of a shock to the system but on a better note, we have been told we can claim some of it back on our tax return! We went and got their uniforms today and Daisy is thrilled with wearing a skort ( a cross between skirt and shorts) and Ollie can't believe his luck as he doesn't have to wear shoes - he can go in trainers! The uniform looks okay and to be fair was no dearer than back in the UK.
The kids are looking forward to going back to school (as we are!!) and we are also moving into our long term rental next week so another busy week ahead!
