We would love to have a get together. I think I sent our email back to you using the wrong email address - sorry!

We're in Mindarie which is a beautiful suburb. The reason we chose this area is because Kate's school is a five minute drive away. She goes to the Peter Moyes Anglican School. She's settling in ok. She's a very reserved young lady and quite shy. She's made a few mates but not invited any home yet. I must confess I'd be happier if I could actually meet them. Her friends in the UK had been with her since reception. So they were well formed relationships. I know she misses her best mate and I feel bereft at times when I know she's struggling. But we're doing this for her future.
I would definitely recommend this area to you. But there are others equally as nice.
If I can help you just post me.

Just about unpacked all our boxes but packed the majority back up again. What a task that was. And believe it or not there wasn't that many shoe boxes, well there was quite a few! I'm glad we've got this rental for six months with a view to a year. I think you forget how much energy sorting things out takes. But it's done now. So all is good. I'm still waiting for my car. It is true when the locals say WA stands for Wait Awhile!
We're not rushing into buying anything for the time being. We want to make sure Australia is for us. Yes we like it but it's a big commitment to buy. We have looked but we're taking our time.
The Mindarie Marina had a food and drink event yesterday which was lovely. We just strolled down there. Looked at the very posh boats in the marina. It still seems strange to see a yacht going up the street. But it's such a common occurrence here it shouldn't take too long before I get used to it. It's a beautiful place to live. The temperature seems a little cooler which is wonderful. Living so close to the ocean we get a breeze that's very welcome.
Kate continues to be Kate and just gets on with things in her reserved way. Damon's ok. He's not sparkying at the moment. He's working at a soft drinks plant. I don't know how long he'll stay there. As ever he'll decide what he feels is the best for all of us. It's expensive out here which makes me think he will go back to being an electrician but that's for him to decide. I've always left that decision for Damon to worry about. He's enjoying the Ozzie lifestyle. I'm ok too. At the moment it still feels like I'm on holiday. I don't know how long it'll feel like that. But I'm not complaining.
Not a lot else to report for now.

Yes, it does seem like Christmas. It's a great feeling to sit on your own sofa and sleep in your own bed. The item I've missed the most has been our washing machine. Kate's really pleased to see the microwave! She says she can cook her sweetcorn quicker now.
I'm disappointed to say we have had quite a few damages which is heartbreaking. We are insured but it's just one more hassle we could do without.
We're are still awaiting my car. At the moment Kate and I are getting up around 4:15am to take Damon to work. Needless to say we can't wait to get it back.
But on a brighter note the sun is shining and it's a lovely place to live.
Hope you are all well.
