What interesting weather they have here! Having been told it very rarely rains much after the beginning of October we thoroughly enjoyed the most amazing storm Friday night. I've never seen so much water falling from the sky in a short space of time. It was all very dramatic and exciting, much better than English drizzle any day.
Spent Saturday checking out our local parks with Jack, then the afternoon drooling over show homes at Burns Beach. Fell in love with one of the houses - could afford the house just not the land as well. Bummer! I find that lots of Aussie homes are quite dark inside (I know it keeps it cooler, but it's a bit dreary, I think) but this one let the light flood in and it totally bowled us over. If we were ready to sell our house in the UK we could build one, but we're not ready yet.
Sunday we spent a fab day at Fremantle. The boys went off to look at the boats and submarines while Charlie and I wandered round the markets. What a lovely place. Drove back along the coast road which was beautiful. Cottesloe was too rowdy for us (fine if you're 18) as was Sorrento. But City Beach seemed more family friendly so will have to check it out at some point.
Doug started work this morning so this is my first day on my own. Apart from going out the wrong exit of the shopping mall and trying to look nonchalant as I walked round the outside, I'm doing OK!!!
