Thanks for all your comments. Things have got better but there are still good days and bad. I hope my blog gives people a realistic insight into the whole process and that, for the first few weeks/months here, it's bloody hard work.
I think there is light at the end of the boxes! Managed to piece together all the Ikea bits so now have some storage. Pleased to have our sofa back and speakers etc so we can have music whilst we work. Unfortunately the rowing machine made it (damn) but have decided that as I swim everyday I really don't need to torture myself on the rowing machine too. Only one minor breakage - a Martini glass (very fragile), so that's not bad really.
Fed up with unpacking and cleaning, I took myself off to the beach today for a brief visit. It was glorious, all white sand and turquoise sea. Sat for a while and read and thoroughly enjoyed myself although my back is a bit red now so have to be more careful in the sun.
Haven't watched TV or had much contact with the outside world since we got here so we're off to find a set top box at the weekend so our TV can pick up Oz channels. Have no need for satellite as we never watched British TV (all those dour kitchen sink dramas or flouncy period pieces - yuk!) and the kids haven't missed not having TV at all so we'll save the money and join Blockbusters instead!
Hoping to go whale watching at the weekend as an early Xmas present for all of us, but they say it might rain so maybe we won't go. Heaven knows we did enough outings in the rain in England!
Helping at first school event on Friday, the little ones' disco (Charlie does NOT want her mother helping at the big ones' disco!) What a spoil sport!
